Admission Procedure
The admission process & registration for 2025 has started on our website from 16th August 2024. All admission updates are available on our website from time to time.
The Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) for Admissions 2025 is scheduled online. All details of the admission process are available on

Yes. SEED is compulsory followed by Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction.
The registration fee is Rs. 3250/- (Rs. 2250/- for SEED & Rs. 1000/- for SID)
No, registration is to be done online. The link to register is given on our website

For registration visit our website www.sid.edu.in After registration, the applicant has to pay Rs.3250 via online transaction.
Elementary drawing exam certificate is not mandatory for applying for Admission at SID.

SID does not promote or is aware about any coaching classes/preparatory classes.
SID does not have any provision for direct admission to second year.

The admit card will be available on our website. You will have to download & keep a hard copy or soft copy ready. It is compulsory to display your admit card as a proof of identity.
The first merit list will be displayed on our website.
Portfolio Review & Personal Interaction
The portfolio upload link will be available on our website after Personal Interaction slot is booked by you.
For an experienced faculty, it is not very difficult to distinguish work which is self-made or ready-made. During the PI round, you will be asked questions based on your portfolio. If any unfair means are observed, your candidature will stand cancelled.
Your digital portfolio should be a compilation of your best works showcasing your skills, passion and interest in a variety of areas and techniques. Do make sure to include the work you are proud of. Try to be different and include unique and interesting things.
You can be asked to. You should have basic stationery including pen, paper, and pencils available with you during your PI session.

You will have to click pictures of best work, compile it in a PPT and upload the PDF format on the given link. You cannot show your portfolio during PI as it is compulsory to upload it before your slot for interaction.
You will be intimated about the same through email on the email address shared during registration.
B.Des Programme and Specializations
Bachelor of Design (B.Des) is a 4-year full time degree Programme.
B.Des degree is awarded by Symbiosis International (Deemed University), which is established under Section 3 of UGC act 1956 by notification No. F.9-12/2001-U3 Government of India and hence it is a recognized degree worldwide.
SID offers B.Des Programme in four disciplines and eight specializations. To know in detail about each specialization, visit

B.Des degree is recognized by UGC and the degree nomenclature is included in Section 22 of UGC.
SID presently offers only UG courses in design.
There is no short term / distance course offered by SID. SID presently offers only full time Under- Graduate degree courses.
Yes. We are offering specialization in Interior Space Design under Industrial Design discipline since the year 2013.
Eligibility for Admissions
There is no age limit for taking admission to SID.
Passed Standard XII (10+2) or equivalent examination from any recognized Board or 10+3 diploma approved by State Board of technical Education with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes).
A candidate from any stream having completed or appeared for 10+2 can apply for any specialization in design at SID

Accommodation/ Transportation/ Loan and other Facilities
Symbiosis has collaboration with IDBI Bank and Bank of India for Education Loan.
Yes, SID has hostel facility at Viman Nagar within a radius of 1 km from the campus.
The Academic Fees can be paid in two installments.

Internationalization or Study Abroad Opportunities

Usually in the 3rd or 4th year
There will be central selection process where interviews are conducted. If you clear that, you can apply to the University.
Courses of students selected for exchange are mapped with those of the host university. The students’ scores at the host university are reflected in SID results.
Usually the cost ranges between 3 lakhs to 7 lakhs (INR).
If you are selected for a Semester Exchange or Fee Waiver programme, only living travel expenses and no tuition fees are to be borne by you.
If you are selected for Semester Abroad, you have to bear the tuition fees as well as living expenses.
Internships/ Placements
Design is primarily learned by doing and practicing. SID believes in imparting skills and thinking abilities to its students and build an impressive portfolio. Through the SID Placement Cell, students are assisted in seeking internship during the final semester for degree project as well as for summer internships. The SID placement cell assists students to find suitable employment based on rules and regulations for placement at SID.
