SID International Cell is formed to facilitate internationalization at the institute, under which a lot of initiatives are undertaken which offer international programmes to all students at SID. The objectives of International cell at SID are aligned with the Vision of Symbiosis International (Deemed) University that of Promoting international understanding through quality education through inculcating the spirit of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (the world is one family), promotion of cross cultural sensitization and developing global competencies amongst students.
SID International Cell facilitates Student Exchange and Study Abroad programmes for the students at SID where students from 3rd year and 4th year take up upto one semester study at the international partner Universities of SIU. SID sent students for semester exchange to Ryerson University, Canada, Leeds Becket University, UK and University of Carlos III, Madrid.
SID International Cell organizes international guest faculty session or project or studio. Our students get the benefit of international classrooms at home by way of engaging in these international sessions which provide them with rich experience of international curriculum and best global practices. Prestigious Designers from UK Johanna Gibbons & Morag Myerscough visited SID on 11th January 2020 to present their work, interacted with students & faculties, gave exposure to learn about the UK design industry. Maggie Macnab, a renowned designer from New Mexico was invited on 17th January 2019 to conduct workshop with Communication Design students on ‘To observe how nature solves design problems and how to practically apply these principles to design’. Dr. Jane Burry from Swinburne University Australia was invited on 28th September 2018 to present her students’ works from Architecture & Design Programmes at Swinburne University.
International Collaborations of SID
