Tashi Bahuguna is an Assistant Professor at the Graphic Design dept. at SID, Pune. She holds an MFA in Applied Arts (Illustration), BFA in Applied Arts, and a Diploma in Art Education. Her academic journey reflects a consistent engagement with visual communication, design pedagogy, and interdisciplinary creative practices. She teaches Communication Design, Branding Strategies, Visual Semiotics, and Design Thinking. Influenced by her army background, she strives to cultivate a positive, thriving classroom environment that balances creative freedom with discipline and professionalism, encouraging both critical thinking and responsible design practice. Beyond teaching, she actively contributes to academic coordination, student mentorship, and cultural initiatives, supporting exhibitions, academic events, and collaborative learning activities that enhance student engagement and holistic development. In addition to academics, she has achievements in the performing arts, having been a finalist representing Uttarakhand at the Fbb Femina Miss India 2017 pageant. She has also worked professionally as a performing artist in print advertisements and television commercials, experiences that enrich her understanding of visual representation, branding communication,and audience engagement. She remains committed to mentoring aspiring designers and nurturing thoughtful, culturally aware creative professionals.
