Sanjana Khairmode

Sanjana Khairmode is a multidisciplinary design educator with over seven years of academic experience, working at the intersection of user experience, design pedagogy, and interdisciplinary practice. She holds a Master of Design from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, and a Master of Design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), where she was awarded the Gold Medal. Her practice draws from Human-Centered Design, using material exploration and systems thinking as ways to understand relationships between people, context, and form. For her, design is not just about solving problems, but about understanding the relationships that create them. In the classroom, she builds reflective, inquiry-driven learning environments where students are encouraged to navigate ambiguity, engage with context, and develop their own design voice through a thoughtful balance of process-led exploration and meaningful outcomes. She mentors students across projects and academic development, supporting independent thinking and critical engagement.
